The Duke told an audience he and his wife were “particularly happy to be at our first Royal Foundation event with Meghan”.

The foursome also poked fun at the perils of working together, with Prince Harry admitting plans for their mental health campaign Heads Together were drawn up “on the back of a fag packet” with family disagreements coming "so thick and fast” they cannot keep track

“Working as family does have its challenges of course it does,” Prince Harry said, to laughter. “We’re stuck together forever now.”

'The young Royals showed their softer side at the foundation forum today when joking about the challenges of working together as a family. After being asked by presenter Tina Daheley if the 'ever have disagreements'
William immediately burst into laughter before responding with a drawn out 'Ohhhh yes'.
Harry was quick to clarify they were 'healthy disagreements' and joked they 'come so thick and fast' when asked what the last thing they quarrelled on was.

William continued the banter, quipping:
'Is it resolved? We don't know!'
But Harry steered the topic back towards the serious message, adding:
'I think it's really good we have got four different personalities and we all have that same passion to make a difference. 'We have different opinions and they work really well [together]. Working as family does have its challenges; of course it does. [I think] the fact that everybody is laughing shows they know 'exactly' what's it like. But we are stuck together for the rest of our lives.
Meghan added
'Togetherness at it's finest'

Presenter Tina Daheley said the impact had been huge and 'changed the national conversation around mental health' before asking them if they expected such a result.

William quickly said 'No, as an answer' before Harry quipped:
'It was organised on the back of a fag packet. It really was.
But William quickly brought the subject back to a serious nature, adding the Duchess of Cambridge was key to its development.
He said: 'Catherine was the one who joined the dots up and came up with the idea and the concept. Harry and I had never thought about doing a campaign before and when it comes to mental health it was very difficult to know where to start. 'It's such a big issue and it is so entrenched in society in a negative way, sadly.

In a a series of three speeches,
the Duke, Duchess and Prince Harry each laid out their vision for how the younger generation of the Royal Family would conduct their charity work, in an era so different from that of the Queen or the Prince of Wales.

Saying they would utilise social media to spread their message further, and harness diversity to find a broad base of young leaders, the Duke explained they would not seek “quick wins” but “strive to make a long and lasting difference”.

“Since our roles are lifetime roles, our commitment to the work we do through The Foundation is genuinely long-term,” the Duchess said.

“It is an unusual and privileged position to be in, but I do think this long-term view will ultimately help us make a difference in the areas that we care so passionately about.”

フォーラムに先駆けてパレスがリリースを発表

the Royal Foundation released the following:
"Creating the Foundation was a new style of how the Royal family could engage with causes that are close to their hearts. It allows them to work together across this generation as well as bring others together to focus on areas they are each passionate about. Once the Duchess of Cambridge became Patron, Their Royal Highnesses established a key focus of working together, as well as convening others to help tackle society’s biggest challenges. We are delighted to welcome Meghan to the Foundation. She has always shown great drive and compassion for making a difference in the world, and we are excited to embark on important projects together. Together we use the passion and unique influence of our Patrons to change mindsets and make a lasting difference on the issues that matter to them and to society. We never begin a project thinking we have the answer. From day one, the Foundation was built with an open door, and whatever we do, we invite the best and brightest to sit with us around the table to help find solutions."

The Foundation's current priorities are
mental health, young people, conservation and the armed forces.

Mental health has been at the heart of the royals' work for some time now. Their campaign, Heads Together, is the largest initiative the trio have jointly undertaken. Driven by their desire to destigmatise mental health and start conversations all over the world, it is undoubtedly a cause they are deeply passionate about. Following a year of engagements, videos and radio appearances the efforts for the first phase culminated at the London Marathon, where Heads Together was chosen as charity of the year.

To progress the campaign, the Royal Foundation is investing £2 million to establish a new start-up for digital mental health innovation, which is developing new digital tools to help people have conversations about mental health. It is the largest single grant from the Foundation. Last month Kate launched 'Mentally Health Schools' - a website designed to give teachers and school staff the clarity and practical resources they need in order to support pupils.

The Royal Foundation was launched in 2011 by Prince William and Prince Harry as the primary vehicle for their philanthropic interests. The Duchess joined later that year. Since then, it has grown significantly, making a difference in communities across the UK and beyond. The royals' continued aim is to invest in, or partner with, organisations with proven impact, using its profile and leverage to create a multiplier effect in resources, outcomes and knowledge.

William immediately burst into laughter before responding with a drawn out 'Ohhhh yes'.

William continued the banter, quipping:
'Is it resolved? We don't know!'
But Harry steered the topic back towards the serious message, adding:

'It's such a big issue and it is so entrenched in society in a negative way, sadly.

asked Kate about coming up with the idea for Heads Together.
"It's very generous of you to say it was my idea but actually it was going back right to the beginning when we were looking at ways we could all work with the Foundation and I suppose I learned through meeting with some of my patronages that there was sort of all these underlying causes across so many different sectors. Mental health just kept on flagging up every time, where it's with addiction or school support and with vulnerable young children. It's something I felt very passionately about. It's something I felt all three of us at the time could make a far bigger impact together rather than just one of us. Kate continued: "I've always felt really strongly about putting ideas together."

Prince Harry admitting plans for their mental health campaign Heads Together were drawn up “on the back of a fag packet” with family disagreements coming "so thick and fast” they cannot keep track.

“Working as family does have its challenges of course it does,” Prince Harry said, to laughter. “We’re stuck together forever now.”

asked what she is excited about moving forward and cited her continued interest in mental health and exploring the early years. She discussed her own personal experience as a mother

'I've learned a huge amount from the patronages I've worked with but also from the amazing experts I met along the way and you know, you can't help but then reflect on your own life. It's definitely had an impact on how I mother, how we work as a family and how we hope to bring up our children.'

Heads Together was Kate's idea, and she shared another one I think would be terrific.
"I think there's lots that I'm hugely excited about with the Foundation and from the Foundation's perspective.  Imagine if we were able to do a Heads Together campaign with another generation of members of the Royal family. I think that's so exciting and with so many more of us working on the same cause or similar causes, we could make a real impact."

Ms Markle said each of the four brought their own perspectives to issues, adding: "If everyone's thinking the same way how are you going to push the envelope, how are you really going to break through in a different sort of mindset?”

She said her previous charity work had taught her of the benefits of “really small grass roots organisations where you can see a higher level of impact, in my opinion because there’s a lot less red tape”, along with an umbrella organisation like the Foundation to raise their profile.

about her impression of the Royal Foundation so far.
"Obviously it's incredibly exciting and yes I think for me it's been a very long time working on cause driven works specifically with women and girls rights. To see the model of the foundation is really interesting. While I've worked with larger NGOs, I've also worked with small grass roots organisations where you can see a higher level of impact in my opinion because there's a lot less red tape. What you see here and what I noticed with Heads Together from a global perspective was the power of convening all of these smaller organisations who have the same issues but need this extra push and support under this umbrella. You're able to achieve that and the impact they all made with Heads Together was tremendous. I'm very excited to work on initiatives similarly that can have that same sort of impact globally".

Speaking about her work supporting women Meghan said:
'For me it's very important, once you hit the ground running, even if you're doing it quietly behind the scenes, which is what I've focused my energy on thus far is meeting with the right people, meeting with the right organisations behind-the-scenes quietly, learning as much as I can so we I can maximise the opportunity we have and really make an impact. I think what's really interesting when I hear people speak about girls empowerment is finding and knowing their worth.

You'll often hear people say 'Well you're helping women find their voices' and I fundamentally disagree with that because women don't need to find a voice. They have a voice. They need to feel empowered to use it and people need to be encouraged to listen. I think right now in the climate we're seeing with so many campaigns; MeToo and Times Up, there is no better time than to really continue to shine a light on women feeling empowered and women really helping to support them in that. Men included. It makes such a tremendous difference.

Meghan added:
"I guess we wait a couple of months and then we can hit the ground running but up until then I'm pretty excited". Meghan said she couldn't reveal more on the work she's been doing yet. "Sadly I can't. Harry and I see the world so similarly in our approach, being very hands on with things. What I can say is I've been so fortunate to meet with incredible women and organisations in the UK, but also knowing some of the work I've done in the past has been in Commonwealth countries like India and Rwanda, so this reach can have some really nice legs to it once we get started."

Asked about her work campaigning on gender equality issues and women's empowerment, she said of the sector:
"You'll often hear people say, 'you're helping women find their voices'.

“I fundamentally disagree with that because women don't need to find a voice: they have a voice. They need to feel empowered to use it and people need to be encouraged to listen.

"I think right now in the climate we are seeing so many campaigns, I mean Me Too and Time's Up, there is no better time than to really continue to shine a light on women feeling empowered and people really helping to support them, men included in that.

"It makes such a tremendous difference.”

watched a video on the Heads Together journey

William opened his address by welcoming Meghan, saying they were “particularly happy” that this is the first Royal Foundation event with Meghan. It was met by warm applause from Kate the delegates from the various charities.

“Ten years ago Harry and I were still serving full-time in the military, but we were starting to look to the next stages of our lives,” William said. “As we discussed together the best way to set out on our official work, we looked to the values our family had instilled in us.

“Both our parents had provided for us an example of diligence, compassion and duty in all they did. Our grandparents, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, had made support for charity central to their decades of service to the nation and the Commonwealth.

“The task for us would not be to reinvent the wheel. Instead, our job was to follow the example of those who had come before us, hold on to the values that have always guided our family, but seek to engage in public life in a way that was updated and relevant for our generation.

“Today we want to celebrate this spirit of togetherness. We want to reflect on what we’ve achieved. And we want you to work with us as we consider what we might do next.”

spoke passionately about mental health and long-term plans.
She joked:
"After seeing the video, I should be sporting my headband but sadly I left it at home." And added: "We are all so proud of the work we did without our partners to challenge the stigma. Since our roles are lifetime roles, our commitment to the work we do through the Foundation is genuinely long term. The work we do can and should have a long-lasting resonance. For this reason we're able to support causes we're passionate about for decades into the future. Like the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Prince of Wales we feel strongly we have to take a long-term view that is measured in generations."

"We feel a tremendous responsibility to play our part in effecting societal change for the better” – Prince Harry sums up the Royal Foundation's ambition for change and the work that inspires him

the Duke, Duchess and Prince Harry each laid out their vision for how the younger generation of the Royal Family would conduct their charity work, in an era so different from that of the Queen or the Prince of Wales.

そう、
キャサリン妃が視線を合わせてない気がしたんだよね

By
bestselling author Judi James & communications coach Robin Kermode

'The pair seemed to skip any sister-in-law style tie-signs or exchanged smiles and chat. Their chairs had been placed close on stage, and there was some superficial mirroring, but they rarely met eye contact.
'Meghan in particular seemed all about getting her passionate messages across.'

Judi added: 'Kate's body language style looks calm but firm and she sat back in her chair (possibly the baby bump modified her posture) while Meghan sat upright and slightly forward.
'Kate's hands tended to remain folded in her lap with just some increased anxiety finger-fiddling signals when both her husband and Meghan spoke. Her eye contact and smiles tended to be reserved for William which suggests low levels of anxiety on behalf of Meghan who was the new kid on the block but clearly full of eloquent confidence.'
'Meghan's style of communication is emotional and forceful. Putting her passion for the causes across she looks like a force of nature that might take some stopping. When the subject of 'disagreements' between them came up there were some interesting 'tells' in terms of body language.
'Both women used their hair as a cut-off, hiding their faces and therefore their true emotions. William sank in his seat saying 'oh yes' and Meghan grabbed Harry's arm in what looked like a gesture of restraint and support. The words 'stuck together' were used and although the mood was light enough it was an interesting moment that might suggest there has been some lively debate between the couples.'

1. Meghan's upright posture vs. Kate the 'relaxed' royal

'Meghan's trait of sitting upright in her chair suggests dynamic energy and desire to speak and participate. Her elbow on the chair is a partial pit-bare gesture that suggests confidence and even leadership.
'Kate's pose shows her royal experience. She sits back in her chair in a less active and more relaxed style (given the baby bump will play a part).
'She has learned that - as a royal - your voice gets heard and there is no need to actively court attention. Her approach looks calmer and her calm confidence is in contrast to Meghan's more active confidence.
Robin adds: Meghan appears very relaxed, with lightly clasped hands. Her chin is low, showing she is confident of her status, with a relaxed hint of a smile. Her raised eye brows shows she is listening carefully. She shows the open, calm posture of someone who is used to, and likes, being filmed.
'Kate too looks relaxed in Meghan's company. Her slightly tilted head to her left shows he is not playing high status above Meghan. Kate appears to be slightly fiddling with the end of her left finger, which is a comforting gesture - indicating that she is now so comfortable with being in front of the media that she doesn't feel she has to be 'on show' at all times.
'They appear to talking genuinely with good eye contact and a perfectly mirrored raise of their eyebrows.'

2. 'Relaxed and flirty' grin vs. Kate's 'perfect' smile

Judi says: 'Kate's smile is her signature 'perfect' royal smile but Meghan's is more actively fun and even flirty as she looks towards her prince.
'The hand clasps are also different: Meghan used a meshed-finger clasp and here she holds her hands in a 'clapping' clasp. She uses strongly emphatic hand gestures as she speaks and this 'clasping' is still full of energy. Kate's hand clasp is slightly more regal but notably there was quite a bit of finger-fiddling too, suggesting some anxiety.'
Robin notes: 'A genuinely relaxed smile from both women. Interestingly both their heads lean towards their respective husbands just out of shot.
'Meghan throws her head back further than Kate, but then it is her fiancé making her laugh!

3. A 'cut-off gesture' to hide their giggles

'Harry's humour seems to affect both women in a similar way, with both hands being raised in a partial cut-off gesture to hide their giggles,' notes Judi.
Robin agrees, adding: 'Both using their left hand (the emotional hand) gesture to cover their mouths as if to say, 'That was very funny, but I'm glad you said it rather than me!''
Harry is known as the joker of the Royal family, and his winning sense of humour is one of the things that first attracted his stunning former actress fiancée to him.

4. Meghan's 'serious listening face' conveys respect

'Meghan's more serious listening face when Kate was talking signalled respect for her message,' notes Judi, adding: 'Although there was little mirroring here, suggesting two women with quite different approaches and communication styles.'
Robin agrees, adding: 'Meghan doesn't appear to be about to interrupt or add, but listens intensely, showing respect for Kate.'

『Victorian Giants: The Birth of Art Photography'』

brings together for the first time portraits by Oscar Rejlander, Lewis Carroll, Julia Margaret Cameron and Lady Clementina Hawarden. These four artists would come to embody the very best in photography of the era, experimenting with new approaches to picture making, and shaping attitudes to the medium that have informed artistic practice ever since.

The exhibition explores the birth of art photography in England and provides a fresh perspective on one of photography's formative periods

Kate wrote a foreword to the exhibition catalogue in which she discussed her interest in 19th century photography, the subject of her undergraduate thesis while an art history student at the University of St Andrews. "This period of history has long interested me. Photographs of children in particular, which feature predominately within the exhibition are of real interest to me. The photographs allow us to reflect on the importance of preserving and appreciating childhood while it lasts. Children held a special place in the Victorian imagination and were celebrated for their seemingly boundless potential. The notion still rings true for us today and it underpins much of my official work and the charities I have chosen to support, and, indeed, my role as a mother of a young family."

The Duchess added: "Queen Victoria and Prince Albert became enthusiastic patrons of the new form of picture-making following its invention in 1839. Rejlander undertook commissions for the Royal family, and this exhibition contains photography by him borrowed from the Royal Collection at Windsor." The foreword is by far the most personal one Kate has written, drawing on her interests, education and the exhibition's connections to the Royal family.

was a Swedish émigré with a mysterious past; Cameron was a middle-aged expatriate from colonial Ceylon (now Sri Lanka); Carroll was an Oxford academic and writer of fantasy literature; and Lady Clementina was a member of the landed gentry, the child of a Scottish naval hero and a Spanish beauty, 26 years younger. All three latter artists briefly studied under Rejlander and maintained lasting associations, exchanging ideas about portraiture and narrative. Influenced by historical painting and frequently associated with the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood, they formed a bridge between the art of the past and the art of the future, standing as true giants in Victorian photography. Their radical attitudes towards photography have informed artistic practice ever since.

Swedish-born 'Father of Photoshop'
《Oscar Rejlander》's pieces include the finest surviving print of his famous picture 'Two Ways of Life', an example of his pioneering technique of combining several negatives to create a single final image. Constructed from over thirty separate negatives, 'Two Ways of Life' was so large that it had to be printed on two sheets of paper joined together

《Lady Clementina Hawarden》
was a pioneering portrait photographer of the 1860s. Hawarden first began to experiment with photography in 1857, taking stereoscopic landscape photographs before moving to large-format, stand-alone portraits of her daughters.

Lewis Carroll’s photographs of Alice Liddell,
his muse and inspiration for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, are among the most beloved photographs of the National Portrait Gallery’s Collection. Less well known are the photographs made of Alice in her years later, showing her as an adult. The exhibition brings together these works for the first time.
HRH wrote her honours dissertation on Carroll's photography,
'Angels from Heaven: Lewis Carroll’s Photographic Interpretation of Childhood'.

《Julia Margaret Cameron》
is best known for her powerful portraits of great Victorians such as Darwin, Herschel, Watts and Tennyson
